Leovildo Pargas pitched professionally briefly in Taiwan. Pargas was on the Venezuelan team in the 2007 Baseball World Cup, going 1-0 with a 3.86 ERA, beating the Thai national team. He must have impressed the Taiwanese hosts as he was signed to pitch for the 2008 dMedia T-Rex. He walked 21 in 26 1/3 IP and was 1-1 with 2 saves and a 6.15 ERA. Pargas throws a slider, curveball and fastball (peaked at 90.7 mph). In December of 2008, Pargas was indicted along with 8 other T-Rex players for throwing games and banned for life from the Chinese Professional Baseball League.
He struggled in the 2017 Bolivarian Games; in 3 games, he worked only 2/3 of an inning with 3 hits, 2 walks and one run for the highest ERA on Bronze Medal-winning Venezuela at 13.50 (Robert Palencia was next at 4.50). He tied for second in the event in games pitched, one behind Kendy Batista.
