Biographical Information[edit]

Po-Ching Chiang pitched in the CPBL for 3 years.

Chiang was drafted by the Uni-President Lions in the first round of the 2005 CPBL Draft, but he struggled in his rookie year. He only retired 9 batters in 9 appearances while walking four, and the Lions released him. The La New Bears picked him up, and Chiang broke out in 2006. He had a solid 3.20 ERA in 33 games, and he appeared in the 2007 Taiwan Series. However, Chiang didn't retire any of the five batters he faced, and the Uni-President Lions beat the Bears in 7 games. The Bears then traded him with Chih-Chung Yen and Yu-Liang Cheng to the DMedia T-Rex for Chin-Chih Huang and Hsiang-Kai Shih after the 2007 season. Chiang slumped to a 5.10 ERA in 30 games in 2008, and he went undrafted after the T-Rex were expelled after the 2008 season. He started to coached Shou-Shan High School in 2011.

Overall, Chiang was 7-7 with a 4.31 ERA, struck out 62 and pitched 102 1/3 innings in 3 seasons in the CPBL.
