Biographical Information[edit]
Hsiang-Kai Shih played in the CPBL for 5 years.
Shih represented Taiwan in the 2000 World Junior Championship. The Macoto Cobras selected him in the sixth round of the 2003 CPBL Draft, and he hit .189/.231/.270 in 18 games in his rookie year. His batting line was .270/.308/.378 in 28 games in 2005, and he was 4-for-13 in the 2005 Taiwan Series. The Cobras were swept by the Sinon Bulls. Shih only hit .167/.211/.167 in 2003, and he was 3-for-24 in 2007. The Cobras then traded him with Chin-Chih Huang to the La New Bears for Yu-Liang Cheng, Chih-Chung Yen and Po-Ching Chiang, and he was 0-for-6 in 2008. Shih announced his retirement after the 2008 season.
Overall, Shih had hit .189/.244/.254 with 23 hits in 5 seasons in the CPBL.
