USA South Athletic Conference
The USA South Athletic Conference is a Division-III athletic conference in the states of North Carolina and Virginia. The USA South was known as the Dixie Intercollegiate Athletic Conference through 2003. The conference began sponsoring baseball championships in 1969.
Piedmont College, LaGrange College and Maryville College left the Great South Athletic Conference to join the USA South in 2012-2013, while Shenandoah University left at the same time to become a full member of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference and Christopher Newport University left to join the Capital Athletic Conference. Finally, Covenant College and Huntingdon College announced plans to leave the remnants of the Great South and join USA South beginning in the 2013-2014 season.
On February 18, 2022, the USA South Conference presidents announced a restructuring of the conference, resulting in Agnes Scott, Berea, Covenant, Huntingdon, LaGrange, Maryville, Piedmont, and Wesleyan leaving the USA South to form the new Collegiate Conference of the South for the 2022-23 academic year.
