Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Sung-Yung Lo played in the CPBL for 8 years. His cousin was CPBL catcher Yi-Feng Kuo.

Lo was signed by the Sinon Bulls in 1999, and he hit .182/.222/.234 in his rookie year. He improved to .250/.283/.329 in 2000, and the Bulls advanced to the 2000 Taiwan Series. Lo hit .250/.294/.438 with a home run in Game 3 against Yi-Cheng Tseng, but the Bulls were still beaten by the Uni-President Lions in 7 games. He slumped to .180/.251/.268 in 2001, but he bounced back and secured the starting left fielder spot in 2002. Lo's batting line was .261/.309/.364 in 2002, and he had a .287/.337/.397 batting line in 2003. He tied Chia-Hao Chang for 4th in triples with 5. He hit .111/.158/.111 in the 2003 Taiwan Series, and the Brother Elephants beat the Bulls in 6 games. Lo then struggled in 2004 as his batting line was .217/.303/.275, and he had a 2-for-9 record in the 2004 Taiwan Series. The Bulls beat the Lions in 7 games, and he finally won his first Taiwan Series title. Lo hit .256/.298/.323 in 143 at-bats in 2005, and he was 1-for-6 in the 2005 Taiwan Series; the Bulls swept the Macoto Cobras. He lost his spot in 2006, and he announced his retirement after that season. He then coached the Bulls from 2007 to 2011, and he became the coach of WuFeng University in 2021.

Overall, Lo had hit .237/.290/.318 with 359 hits and 14 homers in 8 seasons in the CPBL.
