Biographical Information[edit]

C/OF Stan Hough was drafted by the New York Mets in the 2nd round of the January 1974 amateur draft. He played in the minor leagues from 1974 to 1985 in the Mets (1974-1980) and Houston Astros (1981-1985) chains. He reached AAA for 28 games in 1979 (.157/.231/.229), with the Tidewater Tides, and appeared in 6 games at the level in 1985 (.154/.154/.154), with the Tucson Toros.

Hough's first coaching experience was as a player/coach with the Daytona Beach Astros of the Astros organization in 1983-1984. He then coached the Tucson Toros in 1985, when he made his final appearances as a player, and the Osceola Astros in 1986. His first manager's job came in 1987 when he led the Texas Rangers' GCL Rangers. Following a long hiatus, he returned to managing a decade later, with the Waterbury Spirit of the independent Northeast League in 1997. Hough also coached the Tulsa Drillers in 1988, Oklahoma City 89ers in 1989-1991, Clinton Lumber Kings in 2002, and Fort Worth Cats in 2005.
