Pennsylvania State University won the Big Ten conference title in 1996. The school's name is often shortened to just Penn State.
Hall of Famer John Montgomery Ward is the most prominent major leaguer from Penn State.
Penn State turned two triple playsin one game on May 16, 2014 against Michigan State University; Gonzaga University was the only prior NCAA Division I team to pull off the feat before that.
