Biographical Information[edit]
The son of Bobby Wine, Robbie Wine was signed by the Houston Astros and scout Walt Matthews as a 1st round pick in the 1983 amateur draft.
Wine was a coach for the Miami Miracle in 1991, and was a roving catching instructor for the Milwaukee Brewers in 1993-1996. He was an assistant coach at Oklahoma State University in 1999-2003. Wine was named head coach of Penn State's baseball team in 2004 and held the job through 2013, going 228-261. He became manager of the Eugene Emeralds in 2014.
Wine is also the nephew of Edward Wine.
