Biographical Information[edit]
Norm (Moose) Schoenig has won over 600 games as a college coach.
Schoenig played at Montclair State then was an assistant there under Fred Hill in 1979-1983. He followed Hill to Rutgers University as an assistant from 1984-1987. He became head coach at Montclair in 1988. He led his school to a title in the 1993 Division III College World Series and second place in the 1998 Division III College World Series. In 2000, he set a school record for wins at 42-7-1 as the team won the 2000 Division III College World Series. They placed third at the 2001 Division III College World Series. Schoenig retired after the 2014 season with a 724-409-13 record. Hetook his teams to the Division III College World Series seven times.
Schoenig became an assistant coach at Rutgers-Camden in 2015-2017, Penn State Abington in 2019-2021, and Immaculata University in 2022, each time working with Josh Copskey.
Schoenig has been on the Division III Baseball Committee and been on the Board of Directors of the American Baseball Coaches Association.
