Biographical Information[edit]
Naruephol Muangkasem has played for the Thai national team.
In the 2014 Asian Games, he was 0 for 4 with a run; he had one assist and one error at shortstop. [1] He was much better in the 2018 East Asian Baseball Cup, hitting .467/.529/.467 with 6 RBI in 4 games, while fielding .938. He was second on Thailand in RBI (one behind Joe Daru); he led Thailand in hits (7), one behind event co-leaders Wing-Sing Li, Ranjani and Adriane Ros Bernardo. [2]
Muangkasem had the first homer of the 2018 Asian Games, going deep off Laotian national team hurler Cola Phouangkeo. He was 2 for 4 with two walks and four runs in the preliminary round of the Games. He tied Suratit Faengsup and Amila Pushpa Kumara Galbokka Hewage for 4th in the round in average, tied for 2nd in runs (one behind Hewage), was 4th in OBP (between Gniatou Nalor and Alexander Clark) and led in slugging (.067 ahead of Jack Daru, Chayaphat Suanthong and Clark). In the main round, he had Thailand's only hit against China's Quan Gan but was 1 for 15 with a walk, sacrifice fly and two RBI for the round; among qualifiers, the only player with a lower average, OBP or slugging was Ho-Yin Liu. He fielded .893 at 2B, tying Muhammad Zakir for the most errors there (3). [3]
He won Silver with Thailand in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games. [4]
