Biographical Information

Ho-Yin Liu was the backup catcher for Hong Kong in the 2010 Intercontinental Cup, behind another Ho-Yin, Ho-Yin Tam. Liu went 0 for 3 with one error in three chances, a passed ball and one steal allowed with no one caught. He also played in the 2010 Asian Junior Championship. Starting at first for Hong Kong in the 2017 Asian Championship, he was 1 for 9 with a walk while handling 25 putouts and 3 assists with no errors. He hit .143/.235/.143 in the 2018 East Asian Baseball Cup, with 3 putouts, 11 assists and no errors. In the 2018 Asian Games, he started at third for Hong Kong. He was 0 for 16 with 3 strikeouts and 2 sacrifice hits; he had 5 putouts and 6 assists without an error. He was the only regular in the Games to go hitless; Naruephol Muangkasem was next at .067.
