Biographical Information[edit]

Ho-Yin Tam was the principal catcher for Hong Kong in the 2010 Intercontinental Cup. The teenager went 1 for 10 with four strikeouts. He had three errors in six games and allowed 19 steals in 19 tries. No one else in the Cup allowed half as many steals - Juan Pablo Angrisano was second with 9. He was with them for the 2013 East Asian Games. He was 0 for 1 with a walk in the 2014 Asian Games, backing up Chun-Yeung Wu at catcher. In the 2017 Asian Championship, Benny started for Hong Kong behind the dish. He was 0 for 8 with a walk (issued by Ihsan Ullah) while playing error-free ball.

He hit .333/.400/.500 with 4 runs in 4 games in the 2018 East Asian Baseball Cup, starting at 1B. He was mostly a DH in the 2018 Asian Games but played one game at 1B (7 PO), where Matthew Holliday was starting. He hit .167/.286/.417, with a two-run homer against Phanuwat Sukmuang in a 5-4 win over Thailand his best blow.
