Mika de Lincel comes from a family of pitchers. His brother Kjeld de Lincel has pitched in the Hoofdklasse (like Mika) and his sister Svenja de Lincel has been a pitcher for the Netherlands womens' junior softball team. Mika allowed three walks and two unearned runs in his only inning for the Dutch junior national team, in the 2009 European Junior Championship. He debuted in the Hoofdklasse in 2010 and did poorly in his lone outing, allowing five walks, four hits and three runs in 1 1/3 IP for the Konica Minolta Pioniers.
In 2011, he improved to 1-1, 4.13 in nine games (four starts) for the Pioniers (now the Vaessen Pioniers). The teenager was called on to start game three of the 2011 Holland Series, with the Pioniers and Amsterdam Pirates tied at one game apiece. It was a major mismatch as Amsterdam had four-time Olympian Rob Cordemans on the mound. De Lincel battled Cordemans through two scoreless innings but faded in the third. Bas Nooij doubled, Rashid Gerard singled, Wesley Connor hit a sacrifice fly, Roelie Henrique was hit by a pitch, Mike Duursma made an error on a pick-off attempt and Sidney de Jong hit a sacrifice fly. With one out in the 4th, former Marlins minor leaguer Kenny Berkenbosch homered for a 3-0 score; Shane Gnade relieved de Lincel. The Pioniers lost the game and went on to drop the Series.
