The Lynchburg Rangers were a Texas Rangers affiliate in the Class A Carolina League for just one year, 1975. Managed by Wayne Terwilliger, the club finished in last place of the league's four teams in both halves of the season, posting an overall record of 60-78. Outfielder Bobby Thompson hit .298 for the club with a league-high 10 triples (tied for the most with Alberto Louis) and joined second baseman Brian Doyle (.238/~.318/.273, a league-high .974 fielding percentage) and shortstop Rick Albert (.281/~.420/.364) on the circuit's All-Star team. Larry Bradford led the pitching staff with 13 wins (he lost 9) and a 2.60 ERA.

The Rangers played at Lynchburg City Stadium in Lynchburg, Virginia and were third in the Carolina League in attendance (28,527).
