Outfielder Amado Dinzey played five seasons in the minor leagues. He debuted in 1972 with the Wytheville Braves, hitting .196/.253/.314 with 53 strikeouts in 153 at-bats and 9 walks. In 1973, he batted .231/.298/.310 for the Greenwood Braves. Back at Greenwood in '74, his batting line read .237/.289/.278. In 1975, he hit .239/.292/.292 for the Lynchburg Rangers. He wrapped up in 1976 with the Savannah Braves, going 10 for 66 with a homer to post a career .224 average.
Dinzey later became a bird-dog scout and recommended Sammy Sosa to Omar Minaya. He scouted for the Seattle Mariners in 1983 and the Texas Rangers starting in 1986.
