Biographical Information[edit]
Keny Cruz was a late addition to the Nicaraguan national team for the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games. He debuted against champion Mexico, relieving Fidencio Flores in the 4th with a 5-0 deficit. He struck out Alexis Wilson then walked Randy Romero and got Norberto Obeso on a grounder. Rainel Rosario smacked a two-run homer, Víctor Mendoza singled and Fernando Villegas Jr. singled as well before Cruz retired Moisés Gutiérrez. Bryan Torres took over in the 5th. His other outing was versus Curaçao when he succeeded Oliver Espinoza in a scoreless game in the 4th with men on the corners and two outs. He threw a run-scoring wild pitch then Roderick Bernadina singled and Ulrich Snijders hit a two-run double. Cruz struck out Jamal Zalm then gave way to Flores in the 5th; Nicaragua rallied to win.
