Bryan Torres has pitched in the minors and for the Nicaraguan national team.
He was signed by Pittsburgh Pirates scout Juan Mercado in July 2017. [1] He went 4-3 with a 2.61 ERA for the 2018 DSL Pirates 1 and 0-3 with a 6.75 ERA in 14 games for the 2019 GCL Pirates to finish his minor league career at 4-6. Returning to Nicaragua, he pitched for them in the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games. He made three appearances. Against Gold Medal winner Mexico, he replaced Keny Cruz in the 5th with a 7-0 deficit. He allowed a Jasson Atondo single but Emmanuel Ávila hit into a double play and former major leaguer Alexis Wilson flew out. Oliver Espinoza succeeded him. Versus Cuba, he closed out a 8-2 loss. Taking over for Junior Téllez, he retired Andrys Pérez and Roel Santos but Yadil Mujica singled and Dayán García doubled him in. Yoelkis Guibert singled but García was thrown out trying to score. His last appearance of the Games was against Curaçao. Relieving Fidencio Flores with a 5-3 deficit, two outs and one on, he ended the inning by retiring Ortwin Pieternella Jr. He then got the win when Nicaragua rallied for three of Hershelon Juliana in the bottom of the frame.
