Biographical Information[edit]

Fidencio Flores has pitched in the minors and for the Nicaraguan national team.

Flores signed with the St. Louis Cardinals. He was 5-2 with two saves and a 2.22 ERA for the 2011 DSL Cardinals. Coming stateside in 2012, he was 3-1 with a 1.56 ERA and .92 WHIP for the GCL Cardinals. With the same club in 2013, he posted a 5-2, 4.69 record to end his minor league career with a 13-5, 2.91 record.

He had a 4.16 ERA for León in Nicaragua in 2014 and was 4-0 with two saves and a 3.38 ERA for them in '15. In 2016, he led the league in ERA (1.40) while going 14-2 with a save. [1] He got a major start for Nicaragua in the 2016 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers, facing Mexico with a spot in the 2017 World Baseball Classic at stake. He threw a scoreless first but was charged with six runs (all unearned) in 2/3 of an inning in the second (3 H, 3 BB, 2 K on the day); Carlos Téller relieved. [2]

The El Sauce native pitched three games for Nicaragua in the 2018 Central American and Caribbean Games, with a 2.46 ERA and no decisions. He allowed only one run in five in Nicaragua's win over Gold Medal winner Puerto Rico. [3] He then was with Nicaragua for the 2019 Pan American Games Qualifier.
