Julio Parra pitched in the minors leagues and the CPBL.
Parra began his professional with the Tigres Capitalinos from 1993 to 1994, then the Los Angeles Dodgers signed him. He was 7-3 with a 2.85 ERA for the Vero Beach Dodgers in 1995, but he struggled with the San Bernardino Spirit as he only went 4-5 with a 5.19 ERA. Parra’s ERA was 1.27 in 12 games in Vero Beach in 1996, and he went 1-1 with a 2.30 ERA for the Savannah Sand Gnats. He left the Dodgers system after that season, and he returned to Mexico. He pitched for the Tigers from 1997 to 1998.
Moving to the Dos Laredos Tecolotes in 1999, Parra went 6-6 with a 3.80 ERA for them. He then signed with the Chinatrust Whales, but his ERA was 6.23 in 4 appearances in 1999 CPBL. Parra then collected 21 saves with a 4.64 ERA in 50 games in 2000, and his ERA was 5.52 in 43 relief outings with 16 saves in 2001. He also pitched 20 games for the Monterrey Sultanes in that season, and his ERA was 4.18. Parra went 1-7 with a 3.14 ERA in Monterrey in 2002, and he had a 4.50 ERA in 43 games in Dos Laredos in 2003.
Parra went to the Potros de Tijuana in 2004, and he pitched 40 games for them with a 2.32 ERA in 2005. He slumped to a 6.23 ERA in 50 games for the Vaqueros Laguna in 2006, and he also recorded a 5.26 ERA in 25 games in winter for the Aguilas de Mexicali. Parra was 2-2 with a 5.92 ERA for the Saraperos de Saltillo in 2007, and he improved to a 3.05 ERA in 43 games in 2008. However, his ERA rose to 5.97 in 35 games in 2009, then his professional career ended.
