Biographical Information[edit]

Infielder Franklin Font was a Chicago Cubs farmhand from 1995-2000, peaking at AA. He hit .290 in his career but had little pop (3 homers). In 2002, Font was manager of the VSL Cubs. He was a coach for the AZL Cubs in 2003-2004. In 2005-2006, he was manager of the DSL Cubs. In 2007, Font was hitting coach for the Boise Hawks and he was promoted to manager of the AZL Cubs in 2008. From 2009 to 2011, Font was the Cubs' minor league infield coordinator (as of 2011). From June 20 to 27, 2009, he served as the interim manager of the Boise Hawks following the death of Casey Kopitzke's infant daughter.

In 2012, Font moved to the big league Cubs as a special assistant to the major league coaching staff. In 2018, he was named assistant bullpen coach.
