Biographical Information[edit]

Frandelis García has pitched for the Venezuelan women's national team.

As a teenager, she helped her team win the 2022 Women's Baseball Americas World Cup Qualifier, beating Nicaragua. She had a 0.88 ERA in her two appearances, finishing 10th in strikeouts (6). [1] In the 2023-2024 Women's Baseball World Cup, she started their opener against newcomer France and allowed one unearned run in six innings (2 H, 3 BB, 8 K) to beat Camille Foucher. She helped her own cause at the plate; hitting 5th, she got their first hit off Foucher. With a spot in the 2024 portion at stake, she then threw a five-hit shutout to top Janiliz Rivera of Puerto Rico. She hit .429/.471/.500 as a part-time first baseman with five RBI in five games to go with her 0.00 ERA in group B. She was among the pool leaders in hits (tied for 6th), RBI (tied Yu-Ying Hsieh for 8th), total bases (7, tied for 10th), ERA (1st; Angelis Rivera was also at 0.00, but in 6 1/3 IP rather than 13), wins (tied Kana Onodera and Ayami Sato for first), complete games (2, tied Janiliz Rivera and Onodera for 1st), innings (13, tied Onodera for 2nd, one behind Janiliz Rivera) and strikeouts (13, 2nd, 5 behind Onodera), just missing a pitching Triple Crown. [2] In the 2024 portion, she saved Angelica Ledezma's win over Taiwan and went 2 2/3 shutout innings in a duel with Mexico's Rosa del Castillo before an injury took her out of the game in favor of Ledezma. She did not bat as much this time, going 0-for-4. She tied for the most saves, tied for 4th in walks (5), tied Maricela Aguillera and Alexane Fournier for second in K (7, one behind Olivia Pichardo) and tied Natsuki Kubo for the best ERA. [3]
