Biographical Information[edit]

Faldy Akhmad Zulfikar has played for the Indonesian national team.

In the 2012 U-15 Baseball World Cup, he hit .263/.300/.368. [1] He starred for Indonesia in the 2018 Asian Games despite having to battle for playing time with three older backstops (Jerry Rachman, Muharom and Aditya Muflih Mahmud. In their first Asian Games ever in baseball, he had 3 of the team's 5 hits despite not even starting against Hong Kong. The 21-year-old pinch-hit for Mahmud in the 5th, singled off Chi-Kam Kenneth Chiu and got the team's first run ever in the Asian Games. He later added hits of Lai-Him Lam and Matthew Holliday for a 3-for-3 day. He started against Gold Medal winner South Korea but got only one bat, fanning against Jong-hoon Park before Rachman replaced him. Against Bronze Medal winner Taiwan, he batted for Riski Moehammad Adjhari and grounded out against Wei-Fan Tsai to end a 15-0 loss. He again came off the bench to star in a 10-2 loss to Pakistan, replacing Mahmud and getting hits in both at-bats, off Muhammad Usman and Inayat Ullah Khan (their only hit off Ullah Khan in 3 1/3 IP); his hit off Usman scored Albefiandi Aiken Setiawan. Finally, in their first Asian Games win, against Thailand, he started. He flew out against Kevin Kawin Irwin to end the 1st but doubled off Irwin in the 2nd to score Andospa Aldo Saputra and he later came home. He drew a 3rd-inning walk from Wissaroot Sihamat before Mahmud replaced him. For the Games, he had hit .667/.700/.778; among players with 10+ plate appearances, he tied Sho Aoyagi for the best average and was 2nd to Aoyagi in OBP. He handled 11 chances error-free at catcher and threw out 2 of 8 attempted base-stealers. Despite not being a full-time player, he led Indonesia in hits, one ahead of Ramadan and Diva Reza Fabil.
