Wei-Fan Tsai has pitched for the Taiwanese national team.
Tsai allowed four hits and two runs in 2 2/3 IP in the 2015 World Port Tournament. [1] He allowed one run in 2 1/3 innings in the 2018 Haarlem Baseball Week and got a win. [2] At the 2018 Asian Games, he closed out a mercy rule win over Hong Kong. Relieving Cheng-Hsien Lin in the 5th, he struck out the side (Ho-Yin Benny Tam, Tsun-Wai Yung and Hoi-Ting Cheng). [3] His other game also came in closing out a blowout win, relieving Chia-Chun Tang against Indonesia. He struck out Albefiandi Aiken Setiawan then got Ranjani and Faldy Akhmad Zulfikar on grounders. [4] Taiwan won the Bronze.
In the 2019 World Port Tournament, he allowed one run in six innings over three outings. He finished 6th in ERA, between Dutch legends Diegomar Markwell and Rob Cordemans and led Taiwan. [5]
The sidearm hurler's fastball has peaked at 89 mph. [6]
