Biographical Information[edit]
Chia-Chun Tang is a southpaw junkballer.
Tang pitched for Taiwan in the 2005 Asian Championship. In the 2005 Baseball World Cup, Tang allowed 2 runs in 3 1/3 IP over 3 games. He allowed 8 hits but only one earned run in 8 1/3 innings in the 2006 Haarlem Baseball Week but got no decisions. He also appeared for Taiwan in the 2006 World University Championship. In the 2007 World Port Tournament, he was 1-1 with a 3.00 ERA. That year, he was drafted by the Chinatrust Whales. In 2008, he led Taiwan's minor league in wins and ERA. In the 2008 draft of former Whales and dMedia T-Rex players following the dissolution of those teams, he was picked by the La New Bears in the 6th round.
Tang was a late addition to Taiwan's roster for the 2009 World Baseball Classic, added to the preliminary roster after Wei-Lun Pan, Wei-Yin Chen and Hong-Chih Kuo withdrew but still making the final cut. He did not pitch in the Classic itself.
