Biographical Information[edit]

Hoi-Ting Cheng has played for the Hong Kong national team.

He debuted for Hong Kong in the 2015 East Asian Baseball Cup and then was in the 2016 Asian Junior Championship. [1] He hit .333/.500/.667 for Hong Kong in the 2017 Asian Championship while handling 7 chances error-free; his triple off Keita Watanabe was his longest hit. [2]

Cheng hit .286/.350/.286 with 6 runs in 4 games in the 2018 East Asian Baseball Cup; he was one run behind tourney leaders Wing-Sing Li and Joseph Daru. [3] In the 2018 Asian Games, he started at short for Hong Kong. The 19-year-old fielded .913 and went 1 for 12 with 5 Ks and one run. His lone hit came off Phanuwat Sukmuang in a 5-4 win over Thailand. [4] He led the event's shortstops with 14 assists, two ahead of Japan's Sho Aoyagi. [5]
