Biographical Information

Estevenson Encarnacion has been a minor league pitcher.

Encarnacion was signed originally by Cleveland Indians scout Ramon Pena and Felix Nivar. He made his pro debut with the 2011 DSL Indians, going 7-2 with 9 saves and a 2.70 ERA. Opponents hit only .178/.341/.219 against him, with 47 strikeouts but 28 walks in 43 1/3 IP. Despite pitching solely in relief, he tied for 7th in the Dominican Summer League in wins. He also tied for 7th in saves. In 2012, he came to the US with the GCL Indians and went 4-2 with two saves and a 4.93 ERA, walking 23 in 34 2/3 IP. With the Helena Brewers in the Milwaukee Brewers system in 2013, he was 1-1 with a 3.38 ERA in 15 appearances.

The 22-year-old was on the Great Britain national team for the 2013 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers. He finished the tourney with their second-worst ERA (only Kyle Wilson was worse). In his lone outing, he entered in the 6th inning with a 10-0 deficit against Germany, relieving Hamilton Bennett. The tall righty started by plunking both Eric Suttle and Matt Vance. He fanned Max Kepler and retired Ludwig Glaser on a fly, but then hit Aaron Altherr. Mike Larson singled in two runs and Kai Gronauer singled in another, before David Rees replaced Encarnacion and allowed both inherited runners to score.
