Biographical Information[edit]

Eric Suttle has been a minor league outfielder.

Suttle hit .396 as a high school senior. In college, he hit .213 as a freshman, .298 as a sophomore, .319 as a junior and .343 as a senior. He finished third in school history with 218 hits. He turned pro with the Southern Illinois Miners, batting .252/.311/.326 in 56 games. He produced at a .286/.398/.398 clip with 47 walks in 88 games in 2008. He signed with the Houston Astros for 2009 and split the summer between the Lexington Legends (.235/.328/.298 in 82 G) and Lancaster JetHawks (12 for 32, 5 BB, 2 2B). Returning to the independent leagues, he played for the Kalamazoo Kings (.272/.402/.362, 39 SB, 3 CS, 55 BB in 77 G) and the Lake County Fielders (.225/.295/.250 in 10 G). He was 7th in the Frontier League in walks and 3rd in steals.

In 2011, he fell to .261/.371/.356 with 53 walks and 22 steals in 31 tries for the Miners. He was 10th in the league in steals and tied for 7th in walks. With the Gary SouthShore RailCats the next year, he was 13 for 34 with two doubles, 8 walks and four steals. He was 5 for 15 with a double, two walks and 5 runs in four games for the German national team in the 2013 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers, serving as their leadoff man and left fielder. He tied Aaron Altherr, Tyson Gillies and Tim Smith for second in the qualifier in runs, behind Jimmy Van Ostrand's 9. He was 1 for 3 in the finale, a 11-1 loss to Team Canada, singling off Andrew Albers as one of Germany's three hits.
