Kourtis was 6-2 with 2 saves and a 3.90 ERA as a college freshman in 2012. [1] He moved to the closer role in 2013 and was 5-3 with 9 saves and a 2.94 ERA. He led the Atlantic Sun Conference in saves, one ahead of Clint Freeman and was named All-Conference. [2] He missed part of 2014 with injury but did very well on his return (5-1, 5 Sv, 1.15) and was second-team All-Conference. In '15, he was 3-2 with 3 saves and a 2.37 ERA.

Being of Greek descent, he got to play for Greece in the 2016 European Championship. He was hit hard (0-2, 18.41), losing badly to Spain and Great Britain. He allowed the most runs in the tournament (15, 3 more than Matko Dabo) and had the highest ERA of any qualifier. His 19 hits allowed tied Andrey Lobanov for the most. He did much better as Greece's first baseman, batting .412/.444/.529. His two-run single off Lobanov to score Jamie Lekas and Max Warren was crucial in Greece's lone win, 3-1 over Russia. He tied Albin Sivard, Lobanov, Steve De Saedeleer and Andre Hughes for the most losses in the 2016 Euros. He did lead Greece with 7 hits by a batter, one ahead of Jordan Thliveris. [3]

His pro career began with the 2017 Lincoln Saltdogs (1-2, Sv, 3.40 in 26 G). In '18, he was with Lincoln (2-2, 5.05 in 17 G) and the Sioux Falls Canaries (1-0, 10.80 in 9 G).
