Jordan Thliveris has played for the Greek national team.
Thliveris played competitive cricket in the Australian school system before switching to baseball. [1] He came to the US for junior college and hit .217/.280/.261 in 2013-2014. [2] Starting at second base for Greece in the 2014 European Championship (he is of Greek descent), he hit leadoff in their opener. He struck out against Spain's Antonio Noguera his first time up but singled the next. He finished the event at .200/.333/.250 withy two runs and one RBI in seven games, fielding .909. [3]
He played for the Manly Eagles in the New South Wales State League in 2015 and in the California Winter League in 2016. [4] He drove in both of Greece's runs in their opener at the 2016 European Championship, doubling off Junior Oberto to score Costa Kapothanasis and Jason Zachos. He did not get another run or RBI but finished the 2016 Euros with a batting line of .316/.350/.368, the best average of any qualifier on a Greek team that hit .217. He fielded .929. [5]
