Biographical Information[edit]

Daniel Gosselin has played for the Greek national team.

Gosselin, a Canadian native, came to the US for college ball. [1] In 2021, he signed with the Bad Homburg Hornets, then in the German minors, alongside fellow Greek national team members Alejandro Torres-Skerrett and Antonio Torres-Skerrett. He was 5-2 with a 2.52 ERA, leading the Bundesliga-2 southwest in ERA and wins while finishing 2nd in K (47, one behind Gianfranco Rizzo). [2]

He debuted for Greece in the 2021 European Championship Qualifier, allowing 3 runs (1 earned) in 1 2/3 IP in a loss to Lithuania and Matas Sirgėdas but Greece still won the event. [3] He made three appearances in the 2021 European Championship. In his debut, he relieved Jonathan Kountis in the 8th versus Austria with a 7-2 deficit, two outs and one on. He got Moritz Scheicher on a fly. He went 1-2-3 in the 9th, striking out Philipp Eckel then retired Ferdinand Obed and Sammy Hackl. After Greece rallied to tie, Yanni Orfanidis took over in the 10th. Against Belgium, he replaced Dimitri Lettas with a 4-3 lead in the 9th, the bases loaded and no outs. Dennis De Quint hit into a run-tying force, then he got Benjamin Dille on a fly. Axel Poesmans then singled in the game-losing run; Lettas took the loss. Against Ukraine, he relieved Alex Gounaris in the 3rd with the bases loaded, two outs and a 5-1 deficit. He struck out Vladyslav Kosenko to end the threat then tossed three shutout innings (2 H, 3 BB, 1 K) before Orfanidis replaced him. He thus finished the Euros with no runs in five innings, a bright spot on a Greek staff with a 6.58 ERA; he tied Dimitri Kourtis and Orfanidis for the team lead in appearances as well. Only Ben Johnson of Sweden pitched more innings without allowing a run. [4]
