Biographical Information[edit]

Alejandro Torres-Skerrett has played in Germany and for the Greek national team. He is the brother of Antonio Torres-Skerrett. [1]

Torres-Skerrett played for the Bad Homburg Hornets in the German minors in 2021, hitting .362/.483/.404 with 26 runs in 14 games, going 13-for-14 in steals. He led the Bundesliga-2 Southwest in runs, tied for 2nd in hits (behind his brother), was 10th in OPS and led in steals. [2] With Greece in the 2021 European Championship Qualifiers, he hit .333/.400/.500 with 9 steals in 9 tries and 7 runs in 4 games; he had 10 putouts, one assist and no errors. He tied for 7th in the four qualifiers in runs, tied for 2nd with 3 doubles (one behind teammate Tom Roulis) and led in swipes (two ahead of Vladyslav Kosenko). [3] Greece won to make it to the 2021 European Championship.

In the 2021 European Championship, he was Greece's center fielder and leadoff man, batting .304/.414/.391 with 3 steals in 4 tries, 5 walks in 6 games and fielding .950 with one assist. His 10th-inning sacrifice fly off José Paula to score his brother gave Greece a lead in a game they would win. He tied for 4th in the Euros in swipes, behind long-time minor leaguer Ray-Patrick Didder, MLB veteran Roger Bernadina and Léo Jiminian. He led Greece in walks and steals; his brother had the team's only other swipe. [4]
