Biographical Information[edit]

Chih-Hsiang Lin played in the CPBL for 7 years.

Lin played for Taiwan in the 2006 World University Championship and 2006 Haarlem Baseball Week. In the 2008 Haarlem Baseball Week, he hit .208/.406/.208 with 8 walks and 3 steals. He led the tourney in steals and was second to Frederich Cepeda in walks. He also appeared in the 2008 World University Championship, going 3 for 5 with 3 RBI in the Bronze Medal game win over South Korea. Lin hit .297/.350/.351 in the 2009 World Port Tournament and fielded .981 at second base. He remained with Taiwan for the 2009 Asian Championship and the 2009 Baseball World Cup. In the latter event, he hit .250/.291/.288 and fielded .917.

The Uni-President Lions selected him in the second round of the 2009 CPBL Draft, and he debuted in 2011. Lin was their starting second baseman as a rookie, and he hit .286/.359/.340 in 85 games. He was 0-for-2 in the 2011 Taiwan Series, and the Lions beat the Lamigo Monkeys in 5 games. Lin attended the 2012 CPBL All-Star Game, and he was 1-for-2. He would never missed this event during the rest of his career. In 2012, he hit .282/.339/.346 with 10 steals. Lin then represented Taiwan in the 2012 Asian Championship, and he hit .250/.333/.417 for the silver medalists.

Lin was still a solid second baseman in 2013, and he hit .308/.352/.362 with a career-high 23 steals. He was 8th in batting (.049 behind Yi-Chuan Lin) and 2nd in steals (6 behind Sheng-Wei Wang). He hit .222/.211/.222 in the 2013 Taiwan Series, and the Lions swept the EDA Rhinos. Lin won his first CPBL Gold Glove in 2014 and had a .308/.347/.370 batting line, while he also stole 22 bags. He was 6th in batting (.042 behind Chin-Lung Hu) and 2nd in swipes (9 behind Chih-Ping Lin). Lin then attended the 2015 CPBL All-Star Game, and he was 2-for-2. He ended up hitting .302/.336/.373 with 20 steals, and won both Best Ten and Gold Glove as a second baseman. He ranked 10th in hits (35 behind Hu) and 4th in steals (12 behind Chih-Ping Lin).

The Taitung native then played for Taiwan in the 2015 Premier 12, and he was 0-for-1 as a backup behind Yen-Wen Kuo. He won his third straight Gold Glove in 2016, and he also hit .320/.376/.469 with a career-high 10 homers. Lin was also selected into the 2016 CPBL All-Star Game, and he crushed a solo shot off Yi-Jie Hsiao in the third inning. He then made into Taiwan's roster for the 2017 World Baseball Classic, and he was 1-for-1 as a backup infielder. Lin's batting line was .274/.359/.376 in 2017. However, he was involved in a severe sex scandal after this season, and the Lions released him immediately.

Overall, Lin hit .299/.352/.381 with 733 hits, 24 homers and 94 steals in 7 seasons in the CPBL.
