Biographical Information[edit]

Chang-jin Lee has played in the Korea Baseball Organization and for the South Korea national baseball team.

Lee represented Korea in the 2013 East Asian Games and won a Silver medal. The Lotte Giants selected him in the 6th round of the 2014 KBO draft, and he was 1-for-2 with them in his first season. He was then traded with Dae-sung Choi, Seong-woo Chang, Soo-kang Yoon and Jun-ho Ha to the KT Wiz for Se-woong Park, Hyeon-woo Cho, Sung-min Lee and Joong-yeol An. Lee stayed in the minors as he only played 13 games with the big club in 2015, and he missed the next two seasons due to military service. The Wiz then traded him to the KIA Tigers for Jun-hyeok Oh. Lee missed most of the 2018 season due to injury.

The Bucheon native finally broke out in 2019, and he secured the starting center fielder spot. He hit .270/.363/.383 in 133 games, and he was 2nd in the KBO Rookie of the Year voting with 171 points. Lee missed most of the 2020 season due to back injury, then he slumped to .209/.308/.285 in 2021. He bounced back soon in 2022, and he recorded a .301/.374/.402 batting line with 7 homers. He hit .271/.362/.389 as Kia's 4th outfielder in 2023, and his batting line was .262/.401/.330 in 2024. In the 2024 Korean Series, Lee was 3-for-10 with 3 walks in the 2024 Korean Series, and the Tigers beat the Samsung Lions in 5 games.
