Catcher Bryan Holaday reached the majors with the Detroit Tigers in 2012.
Holaday played college ball at Texas Christian University, where he hit .331 as a sophomore. After hitting .300 with 10 home runs as a junior in 2009, he hit .355 with 17 homers in his senior year as TCU reached the 2010 College World Series. He was then selected by the Detroit Tigers in the 6th round of the 2010 amateur draft.
After being signed by scout Tim Grieve, he made his pro debut that summer with the Lakeland Tigers. He hit .220 in 44 games for the club and recoreded five hits in a July 9th game against the Clearwater Threshers. With the Erie SeaWolves in 2011, he hit .242 with 7 home runs and put together an eleven-game hitting streak from April 29th through May 17th. After starting 2012 with the Toledo Mud Hens, he was called up to the majors in early June. He made his big league debut on June 6th, going 1-for-4 in a start against the Cleveland Indians that day.
On March 30, 2016, Holaday was traded by the Tigers to the Texas Rangers in return for Myles Jaye and Bobby Wilson. He played 30 games for Texas, hitting .238 with 2 homers and 13 RBIs, then on August 5th was claimed off waivers by the Boston Red Sox
