R.J. Swindle was the first major leaguer to come out of Charleston Southern University, debuting in 2007. Bobby Parnell followed him that same year.
Charleston Southern was known as Baptist College at Charleston from its founding in 1964 until 1989. The school has sponsored baseball since 1967.
