Anton Trusov has played for the Russian national team.
He debuted for Russia at age 17, replacing Alexey Kobrinets at short in a 21-0 win over Bulgaria in the 2019 B-Level European Championship; he did not handle a chance or get to bat. [1] As a backup utility infielder in the 2021 European Championship Qualifier, he was 1 for 6 with 3 walks, a run and a RBI while handling two assists. [2] Russia won a spot in the 2021 European Championship. In the 2021 Euros, he got into one game. He started at third base against Ukraine (Frank Bulte was their regular at 3B). He grounded out against Mykola Liakhovetskyi his first time up, then got plunked. He singled in the 4th and 6th against Ihor Lukin then was retired in the 7th for a 2-for-4 day with 3 times on base; he scored once. He handled 4 chances in the field, with one error. In the bottom of the 7th, he moved to the mound, succeeding Vladislav Ilin with a 15-5 lead. He retired Yevhneii Tkachenko on a grounder and Vladyslav Kosenko on a fly. Kostiantyn Chukhas singled but Denys Brechko flew out to end it. Trusov was given credit for the win. [3]
