Biographical Information[edit]
Ángelo Mora has played in AAA in 3 seasons (through 2019) and has been on the Dominican national team.
Mora was signed by Philadelphia Phillies scout Koby Pérez in February 2011. [1] He hit .246/.293/.322 for the 2011 DSL Phillies, fielding .939 at short. A year later, he was up to the GCL Phillies and improved his batting line to .271/.309/.342 while going 14-for-19 in steal attempts and fielding .958 at SS. In 2013, he was with the Williamsport Crosscutters (.286/.355/.571 in 7 G) and Lakewood BlueClaws (.214/.283/.290 in 110 G). He stole 17 bases and was caught 9 times. He played mostly second base but also saw action at short, third, right, left and on the mound. He made his Dominican Winter League debut with the Estrellas Orientales, going 2 for 14 with a walk.
He split the summer of 2015 between the Clearwater Threshers (.304/.326/.405 in 62 G) and Reading Fightin Phils (.327/.411/.531 in 37 G), with a .312 composite average. He missed time to play for the Dominican Republic in the 2015 Pan American Games. He split second base with Jonathan Gálvez and backed up Ronny Rodríguez at short. He was 1 for 8 with a double and a run and handled 11 chances error-free. [2] Despite that time missed, he led Phillies farmhands with 10 triples, 3 more than runner-up J.P. Crawford. He was 4 for 21 with a triple that winter.
In 2016, he hit .251/.308/.362 for Reading, playing every position except for first base and the battery spots. After a winter off, he was with Reading (.295/.348/.470 in 80 G) and the Lehigh Valley IronPigs (.280/.291/.330 in 27 G) in '17. He batted .232/.253/.280 for the 2017-2018 Estrellas. Also that winter, he was claimed in the 2017 Rule V Draft's AAA portion by the Los Angeles Dodgers organization.
Mora was in his familiar utility man role that summer for the Tulsa Drillers (.263/.300/.465 in 30 G) and Oklahoma City Dodgers (.275/.326/.400 in 68 G). With the Estrellas, he slumped to .167/.259/.188. He was back with Tulsa (.291/.355/.412 in 49 G) and Oklahoma City (.231/.266/.323 in 45 G) in 2019 before being released. Picked up by the Rockland Boulders, he was 5 for 21 with a double and 3 walks. That winter, he went 2 for 10 with a double.
