Biographical Information[edit]
Catcher Koby Perez played in the Boston Red Sox minor league system from 2001 to 2003 before playing in independent ball from 2003 to 2005. He never played more than 21 games stateside, or had more than 63 at-bats in a season; overall, he slashed .217/.245/.292 with no home runs, 10 RBI and 23 hits in 39 games over four seasons.
He later became a scout, working in the St. Louis Cardinals, Philadelphia Phillies, Cleveland Indians and Baltimore Orioles organizations. He signed or was instrumental in the signing of, among others, Lisalverto Bonilla, George Brown, Ranfi Casimiro, Nick Derba, Seranthony Dominguez, Maikel Franco, Luis Gonzalez, Deivy Grullon, Mitch Harris, Ulises Joaquín, Franklyn Kilome, Ryan Kulik, Santo Maertz, Ángelo Mora, Hector Neris, Adam Ottavino, Luis Oviedo, Jesús Posso, Domingo Santana and Tahnaj Thomas.
