Team History[edit]

The Rockland Boulders were accepted into the Canadian-American Association for the 2011 season. They are the first professional team to be based in New City, NY, located some 25 miles north of New York City and take their name from Rockland County, NY. They began play in a brand new ballpark, Ramapo Ballpark in nearby Pomona, NY and were managed by former major league P Dave LaPoint. In their first season they finished 7th out of 8 teams, only ahead of the road team, the New York Federals. They did much better in their second season, finishing 3rd, and were among the league leaders in attendance both seasons. Their ballpark changed names a number of times after its inauguration.

In 2013, Jamie Keefe took over as manager. The Boulders made the postseason for the first time in 2014, when they posted the best regular season record in the league and then won the only round of playoffs. They returned to the postseason the next three years, repeating as regular season champs in 2015, but were ousted from the postseason by the eventual champions each year, twice losing in the finals. When the Can-Am League merged with the Frontier League the team was renamed the New York Boulders.
