Biographical Information[edit]
Infielder Al Kubski was the father of Gil Kubski. He played in he minors from 1937 to 1956, leading the Lone Star League with 140 runs scored in 1948. He also managed in the minors from 1950 to 1963. He then was a scout with the Baltimore Orioles (1964-1972), California Angels (1973-1977), Kansas City Royals (1978-???), and Atlanta Braves (???-2005). He was named Baseball America West Coast Scout of the Year in 1993. Among the notable players he signed were Bobby Grich, Doug DeCinces, Danny Jackson and Bret Saberhagen.
Kubski died in 2006 at age 90.
