Biographical Information[edit]
Gil Kubski is the son of Al Kubski, minor league player, minor league manager, and scout. Gil played 22 games in the majors, hitting over .250. He spent eight years in the minors, most notably with the 1977 El Paso Diablos, for whom he hit .324 with 29 doubles. He also had some speed - he twice stole 31 bases in a season.
Gil was at California State University, Northridge at the same time as Jason Thompson, and just after Lyman Bostock left.
Kubski has been a scout for the Baltimore Orioles. He has signed Garrett Olson and Scott Rice, among others.
