History, Comments, Contributions[edit]
On September 28, 2023, a game between the 2023 New York Mets and the Miami Marlins at Citi Field was suspended by rain in the top of the 9th inning after the Marlins had just taken a 2-1 lead. It was the last scheduled game between the two teams that season, and it was supposed to be resumed on October 2nd, the day after the end of the regular season, had it had postseason implications. Because the Marlins clinched a wild card berth without needing that win, the game was never completed. It took a few days for MLB to make a ruling regarding the game, but on October 4th, it was announced that the decision was to revert the score to the end of the last completed inning - the 8th - and to wipe out everything that happened after that, thus making it a 1-0 win for the Mets.
