History, Comments, Contributions[edit]
The 1927 Philadelphia Athletics trotted out an unusual lineup on July 13th with Ty Cobb, Eddie Collins and Zack Wheat, all of whom had 2,500 or more hits in the majors. No major league team would duplicate such a lineup until the 2012 New York Yankees.
