Season Summary

The 1901 Baltimore Orioles finished in 5th place in the American League with a record of 68-65-2. The team was managed by John McGraw and played at Oriole Park, which favored hitters. The team had the highest batting average in the league, at .294, with most of the regulars hitting over .300. McGraw was the most impressive hitter with an OBP of .508. Mike Donlin also had an OBP over .400, while Jimmy Williams led the team with a .495 slugging percentage - his 21 triples tied for the league lead along with teammate Bill Keister.

Among pitchers, Joe McGinnity was 26-20 and Frank Foreman was 12-6.
