Biographical Information

Jim Jackson played four seasons in the majors, getting most of his at-bats for the Cleveland Naps of 1904 and 1905.

Jackson broke into the majors with the Baltimore Orioles in 1901, in the first year of the American League, where he led outfielders with a .971 fielding percentage.

Although Jackson was born in Philadelphia, PA and also died in Philly and attended the University of Pennsylvania in Philly, he never played major league ball in the city of brotherly love.

Jackson managed minor league teams in Lima, OH (1908); Wilmington, DE (1912-1914); Topeka, KS (1915); Wichita/Colorado Springs, KS/CO (1916); and Elmira, NY (1917).
