Biographical Information[edit]

Yeicok Calderón has played in the minor leagues and for the Dominican national team. He led one minor league in slugging and another in homers.

Calderón began his professional career with the New York Yankees, and he hit .321/.440/.415 in 55 games for the DSL Yankees 1 in 2009. He was among the Dominican Summer League leaders in average (8th, between Rafael Ortega and Juan Silverio) and OBP (6th, between Romy Jimenez and Henry Pena). [1] Remaining with the team instead of being promoted, he extended his solid performance in 2010, and he crushed 8 homers with a solid .339/.439/.551 batting line. He tied Thomas De Wolf for 7th in walks (43), tied for 7th in triples (6), was second in homers (two behind Ravel Santana), tied Carlos Sanchez for 6th in RBI, was 5th in average (between Erik Gonzalez and Jorge Bonifacio), trailed only Carlos Alvarez and Santana in OBP, led in slugging (.018 ahead of Santana) and led in OPS (17 ahead of Sanchez). He was named a DSL All-Star, but Sanchez won the MVP. [2]

His batting line fell to .225/.264/.457 for the GCL Yankees in 2011, tying for 7th in the Gulf Coast League with six home runs. He hit .270/.354/.478 with 8 homers there in 2012. He led the league in dingers, one ahead of Dilson Herrera and Ericson Leónora. He trailed only Luis Perez and Herrera in slugging. [3] Calderon blasted 10 homers with a .268/.324/.465 batting line for the Staten Island Yankees in 2013, but he struggled with the Charleston RiverDogs as is batting line was .189/.257/.333. He tied David Washington for 4th in the New York-Penn League in circuit clouts, tied Trey Mancini and others for 6th in doubles (18), trailed only Washington in RBI and was 4th in slugging (between Dylan Cozens and Jimmy Bosco). He tied Dan Johnson for 9th in the Yankee system with 26 doubles and tied Gary Sánchez and Reymond Nunez for 7th in home runs (15). He then hit .318/.394/.471 for the RiverDogs in 2014, and he recorded a .244/.266/.398 slash line for the Tampa Yankees, missing significant time due to injury. [4]

The La Romana native crushed 7 homers with a .276/.313/.439 batting line foe the York Revolution in 2015 after leaving the Yankees system, and he represented the Dominican Republic in the 2015 Premier 12. He was 0-for-1 against Venezuela, and he went 0-for-3 against Mexico. He backed up Aneury Tavárez in right and Wilkin Ramírez in left. [5] Calderon had a .319/.374/.472 batting line for the Capitales de Québec in 2016, finishing 8th in the Can-Am Association in average (between Yurisbel Gracial and Hayato Hirama). [6] He blasted 8 homers with a .318/.383/.496 batting line for the Pittsburg Diamonds in 2017. The '17 season was his last season as a professional player.

In 572 games as a pro, he had hit .286/.355/.459 with 66 homers and 325 RBI.
