Biographical Information[edit]
Warren Turner was a longtime baseball coach.
Turner coached in the Joplin school system for eleven years, including the last five as assistant football and basketball coach at Parkwood High School. He was head baseball coach at Missouri Southern State University from 1977 to 2007 and won 852 games (losing 720) during that span. His teams were runner-up at the 1978 NAIA College World Series and the 1991 Division II College World Series, and among his players were big leaguer Ken Grundt. He also took the school to the 1986 NAIA College World Series, 1987 NAIA College World Series and 1992 Division II College World Series. He was assistant football coach at MSSU from 1976-1985 and was business manager for Team USA in 1998.
