Biographical Information[edit]

Travis Minix pitched in the minor leagues and the CPBL.

Minix was drafted by the Tampa Bay Devil Rays in the 23rd round of the 1999 Amateur Draft, and he was 2-2 with seven saves and a 1.44 ERA for the Hudson Valley Renegades in 1999. He tied Shon Norris for 6th in the New York-Penn League in appearances (27). He went 4-2 with two saves and a 3.33 ERA in 48 games for the Charleston RiverDogs in 2000, and he tied Ryan Cullen and Mark Outlaw for 5th in appearances in the South Atlantic League. Minix had a 3.34 ERA in 44 relief outings (5-1, 10 Sv) with the Bakersfield Blaze in 2001, and he recorded a 3.04 ERA in 38 games for the Orlando Rays in 2002, going 5-7. He stayed in Orlando in 2003, and his ERA was 3.86 in 44 games while posting a 5-3 record.

After having a solid 1.76 ERA with the Montgomery Biscuits in 2004, Minix reached AAA and his ERA was 4.75 in 22 games for the Durham Bulls. He moved to the Philadelphia Phillies in 2005, and he recorded a 1.84 ERA in 39 relief outings for the Reading Phillies (1-1, 7 Sv). He also pitched 14 games for the AAA Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Red Barons, and his ERA was 1.53. He tied Francisco Butto and Yoel Hernández for 4th in the Phillies chain in games pitched and tied Fernando Quijada for 5th with 8 saves. Minix was 1-3 with three saves and a 2.40 ERA for the Red Barons in 2006, and he became a free agent.

The Macoto Cobras of Taiwan signed him, and Minix was 5-2 with a 2.96 ERA in 47 games while notching 9 saves in 2007. He was 5th in saves (tied with Kevin Tolar) and 4th in appearances (tied with Yusuke Kurita). Minix then had a 3.86 ERA in 22 games in Reading in 2008, and he also recorded a 1.59 ERA in 13 games for the Somerset Patriots, saving all but one of those games. In the 2009 Caribbean Series, he allowed two unearned runs in four innings for the Leones de Ponce. His ERA was 0.95 in 21 games for the Patriots in 2009, and he went 1-1 with a 1.14 ERA for the Saraperos de Saltillo. Minix slumped to 8-8 with a 5.50 ERA in Saltillo in 2010, and he pitched 5 games for the Patriots with a 3.00 ERA. He went 0-1 with a 3.86 ERA for the Patriots in 2011, was 1-2 with a 3.86 ERA for the Gary SouthShore RailCats. The 2013 season is the last season for him as a professional player, and he recorded a 6.41 ERA in 11 games with the Bridgeport Bluefish.

He was then a volunteer assistant coach at his alma mater. [1]
