Biographical information

Outfielder Travis Ezi played in the minor leagues from 2001 to 2009.

Originally drafted by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 12th round of the 2000 amateur draft, Ezi began his professional career with the GCL Dodgers in 2001. With them, he hit .231 with 15 stolen bases in 58 games.

In 2002, he played for both the Great Falls Dodgers and South Georgia Waves. Combined, he hit .258 with 31 stolen bases. He was a Pioneer League All-Star that year. He spent all of 2003 with the Waves, hitting .259 and stealing 33 bases.

Ezi was traded to the Florida Marlins on December 13, 2003 for Juan Encarnacion. He spent 2004 with the GCL Marlins and Jupiter Hammerheads, hitting a combined .219 with 19 stolen bases in 251 at-bats.

On December 13, 2004, Ezi was selected by the Cubs in the 2004 Rule 5 Draft. He was then traded to the Milwaukee Brewers for catcher Mark Johnson. In 2005, he played for the Brevard County Manatees and Huntsville Stars. He hit .269 with 23 stolen bases in 420 at-bats. He again played for Brevard County and Huntsville in 2006, playing in 105 games between the two. In 298 at-bats, he collected 77 hits for a .258 batting average. He stole 21 bases.

Ezi played for the independent York Revolution and Pennsylvania Road Warriors in 2007, hitting a combined .264 in 450 at-bats. He hit a career high 10 home runs and stole 32 bases.

He began 2008 with the York Revolution, but was traded to the Bluefish on May 26 for Jake Daubert. Combined, he hit .246 with 6 home runs, 34 RBI and 17 stolen bases in 86 games. 2009 was his final season. He hit .170/.257/.248 with 2 home runs and 8 RBI in 39 games split between Bridgeport and the Schaumburg Flyers.

Overall, Ezi hit .250/.318/.355 with 39 home runs, 277 RBI and 200 stolen bases in 847 games spread over 9 seasons.

He later was a Kansas City Royals scout, signing Cody Reed and Chase Vallot.
