Biographical Information[edit]

Catcher Chase Vallot was taken as the 40th overall pick of the 2014 amateur draft by the Kansas City Royals. Louisville Slugger had named him National Player of the Year in high school for his .545 average and 13 homers. His signing bonus was $1.35 million. The scout was Travis Ezi.

He began his career at 17 years old with the Burlington Royals, hitting .215/.329/.403 with seven home runs and 27 RBI in 53 games in 2014. In 2015, he batted .219/.331/.427 with 13 home runs and 40 RBI in 80 games for the Lexington Legends. Going into 2016, Baseball America ranked him the #11 prospect in the Royals system. He began the year with Lexington.
